Our Vision

Yorùbá Language Centre’s vision is to be the leader in designing, supporting, and implementing functional Yorùbá language education. The goal is to encourage, promote, and reshape social interaction, integration, and development through the learning and use of Yorùbá.

Our Mission

The missions of the Centre are as follows:

• Teach non-Yorùbá speakers to become highly articulate and well-educated Yorùbá language users.
• Produce well-researched materials on Yorùbá language pedagogy as Foreign Language Acquisition (FLA) and Second Language Acquisition (SLA).
• Teach Yorùbá language and culture with the same pedagogical approach.
• Produce Yorùbá bilingual and monolingual dictionaries, along with other technical materials like metalanguage and terminology development.
• Train government officials and politicians on the usage of Yorùbá language in governance.
• Offer professional and support services in the Yorùbá medium to various sectors within and outside academic institutions worldwide.
